The point about subscription software can't be over stated. If people let adobe get away with it other software manufactures will fallow suit. They will not leave all the potential money sitting on the table. We will end up having to pay a subscription for most or even all software right down to the operating system. imagine paying over a $100 a month just to use your computer as you do now. That is the future unless we refuse to buy all subscription based software.
I'm pretty sure Adobe could just make more money by requiring a dongle or "ignition key" to use its software, preventing piracy, rather than bilking people who are essentially donating them money for software they could pirate for free if they wanted.
